Menominee is the fourth-largest city in the Upper Peninsula, behind Marquette, Sault Ste. Marie, and Escanaba with a population of just over 9000 people. Menominee gets its name from the Native American tribe known as Menominee which translates into “wild riceâ€. It borders the Wisconsin city of Marinette.
