Throughout the Upper Peninsula there are many different places to go golfing. There are the nine holes and the eighteen holes. Voted the best golf course in the Upper Peninsula is the Wild Bluff. It is located in the city of Brimley. This golf course offers 18 holes of championship golf, a double teed driving range, two putting greens for practicing, and one green for you to brush up on your chipping and bunker play. There are five sets of teeing areas that will allow you to play the course at your ability. The fairways are large and so are the greens. The rates for the months of May through October range from $24 to $47 dollars, and the months of June through September the rates range from $29 to $62. Another well known golf course in the Upper Peninsula is the TimberStone Golf Course in the City of Iron Mountain. This is a public golf course that offers 18 holes. The year the golf course was built was in 1996. The course opens on May 1st of every year and the closes October 31st of every year. There is a driving range and tee times. The weekly costs for the course range from $55 to $60 and the weekend cost for the course range from $65 to $70. These prices do include the price to rent a golf cart as well.

Located in Marquette Michigan, there is the NMU Golf Course formerly known as Chocolay Downs Golf Course. There is a dress code for this golf course, which is no tank tops or cut offs. The golf course is surrounded by wood areas, homes and condos. The 18 hole course offers a fair amount of roll to it with a few traps and very little water. If you are planning to walk the course the rate ranges from $12 to $18, if you plan to rent a cart the rate ranges from $20 to $25. For the twighlight playing time your cost would be $11 and that is only available for walking. No rental carts are allowed for the twighlight play.

On the Drummond Island there is The Rock Golf Course. This golf course is known for the experience you have and just to play the game. There are island greens, long tree-lined fairways, dog-legs to the left and to the right. There is also an abundant wildlife in the area. At times there are deer that come into play on some of the holes. The course is designed so that each group of golfers are virtually isolated from the other golfers on the course. Each hole on the course has four tees which will allow you to pick your difficulty. In Hessel, there is the Hessel Ridge Golf Course. This golf course used to be former hunting grounds and is across from a single-engine airport. This course is not a resort in length or in price, but the conditions are very good. Nothing in the course was carved out. They used the original land that was there. In 1996 the first nine holes opened, in 1997 the back nine opened. The weekend rate with a cart is $42 and the weekday rate with a cart is $32.

The Newberry Golf Course is in Newberry Michigan. It was designed by Nike Husby in 1927. This 18 hole golf course has 6,150 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The slope on the course has a rating of 129. For tee times there is no set time but you are able to call ahead and reserve a spot. The Pictured Rock Golf Course in Munising has a lot to offer everyone who plays golf, beginners to experience. This 18 hole course features rolling terrain, natural hardwoods, carefully placed bunkers and a few water hazards. This course is best known for the excellent condition that if offers and its genuine beauty. There are amenities that they offer, and to name a few of them are a driving range, a restaurant, and a pro shop. The rates vary on the day you want to play and if you would like to use a cart. Monday through Thursday for 9 holes the price is $15 and for 18 holes the price is $25. Friday through Sunday the price to play 9 holes is $18 and for 18 holes the price is $28. If you want a cart the price to have it for nine holes or the twilight is $14 extra and for the 18 holes the price is $26 extra. Twilight playing time starts at 6pm daily for $13. Make sure you visit the Gladstone Golf Course if you are in the area. Located in Gladstone Michigan, this golf course is surrounded by thousands of acres of state forest. The course is 18 holes long and is probably one of the most scenic golf courses you will encounter in the Upper Peninsula. The golf course is 6,456 yards and has huge greens and very narrow fairways that put the tee shots and putting at a premium. The Days River runs through five of the eighteen holes. There is also a club house. At the club house they offer a light lunch and a full bar with a Friday night fish fry which is open to the public from May to September. Also at the course there is a driving range, a putting green and a chipping green.
